French ufologist and author Jean Sider found this case in the newspaper "Les Nouvelles du Morbihan" for November 14, 1954 and reproduced the content of the article.
The article says that on Friday of the last week, Georges Rocaboy, a beating contractor in Ville-Ermel-en-Plessala had driven by car late in the evening to Saint Vran to take back a friend at his place there, and then drove back from there around midnight.
When he was near the village of Fontainguet at the crossroads between the roads of Laurenant and the road of Saint-Lambert, he realized that he had taken the wrong way and went into reverse gear in the small way where he was, but the aft wheels of his car came to a halt in the not so deep ditch. The car slid and he had to ask for the assistance to a nearby farmer, Mr. Goudin.
While Mr. Goudin pushed at the rear of the car, he saw above him a sort of very luminous flying cigar, appearing to be to only one about fifty meters above him. Mr. Goudin made Mr. Rocaboy get out of the car and showed him the phenomenon.
The author of the newspaper's article indicates that they questioned Mr. Rocaboy and that he described the object as being like a long tube having all the colors of the rainbow. The object did not seem to move and its dimensions seemed to be of approximately 2 meters 50 of length and 30 centimetres in diameter. This tube was not alone; above it, was another apparatus with the same shape which seemed to be at 400 meters of height and to have much larger dimensions.
This larger tube seemed to control the smallest tube because the witnesses realized that the two objects went down towards to the car whose headlights were lit and remained lit.
The two men were seized with panic and fled, Mr. Rocaboy hiding behind a hedge while Mr. Gourdin went to alert the Pirios, some neighbors. Mr. Pirio subsequently saw the phenomenon.
The car was then entirely illuminated. The three men then approached the vehicle and all disappeared as by magic.
Mr. Rocaboy specified to the journalists that the two machines could be compared with fluorescent tubes used at that time for lighting [meaning: neon light tubes], that they emitted gleams of various colors but more in the blue and the green. He was particularly struck by the fact that both craft moved at the same time from top to bottom, which gave him the impression that one controlled the other.
