Unidentified luminous object in the sky
A "luminous object of yellow-green color" was reported to the
air transport centre of Aix-en-Provence by two airline pilots
who indicated to have crossed its path in the sky above
Montpellier Monday at 09:00. The radar of the control room
of Aix-en-Provence were not able to confirm the description
of the pilots, the same source indicated, while specifying
that they receive only the signals coming from the aircraft
equipped with adapted flight instruments [Transponders].
Two pilots, one of Air France and the other of the TAT company, announced
to have crossed at 11.000 meters of altitude in the neighbourhoods of
Montpellier, the path of a "yellow-green gleam" that they could not identify.
This description, which did not cause concern for the safety of the flight
because there no was dangerous closing-in, was the object of an
incident report by the by civilian aviation. This type of incident,
which is not frequently recorded, is the object "systematically,
of a small investigation".
