The article underneath has been published in the daily newspaper Le Méridional, France, page 10, on August 2, 1967.

FLYING SAUCER (noisy)
IN THE SKY OF THE SAVOY

Sunday around 10:10 p.m., several residents of Albertville and Ugine (the Savoy) saw, passing in the sky, a large luminous ball, of orange yellow color, which appeared to move at relatively slow speed and low altitude, on a South-North trajectory. Its passage was accompanied by a deaf humming noise.

A distant light in the night low on the horizon and not too fast, with a deaf sound, is a good description of the passing of a plane. However, a ufologist who investigated the sighting then has informed me that it was actually a meteor fireball.
