THE AMERICAN AVIATION CREATES A SERVICE FOR THE STUDY OF THE "FLYING SAUCERS"
Washington, October 8 (A.F.P.). -- Because of the great number of "flying saucers"
that private individuals claim to have seen, the American government decided to name
a physicist of reputation, professor Edward Condon,
of the university of Colorado, at the head of a new service for the study of this phenomenon.
Research which this office will carry out will be financed by the United States Air Force,
who was until now in charge of the U.F.O. (flying
objects of unspecified nature) file.
This file contains more than ten thousand reports on "visions" noted between
1947 and 1965, and even photographs. The United States Air Force has already
dealt a lotwith this matter, and allots [false] the appearance of these U.F.O.
to phenomena of plasma. They even
caused in experiments formations of plasma in the atmosphere [false,
in laboratory] for better studying them.
